Zander

Zander came to us from Southern California after being brought into a shelter as a stray on September 17 with suspected head trauma. At intake, he had bleeding around his left eye, a fractured left cheekbone, a misaligned jaw, ataxia, and was walking in circles.

Because of his medical condition, Zander was placed on the red list and could have been euthanized at any time. Sky’s Path to Home saw him, stepped in, and committed to getting him out and into safety.

Zander did not receive the level of medical care he needed while at the shelter, so we arranged transport to Roseville, California, where an amazing flight volunteer brought him to Montana in the cabin under the seat.

Despite everything, Zander is a happy, sweet puppy. He is playful, affectionate, and already showing his Husky escape artist personality by climbing his crate!

The good news is that he is no longer walking in circles, he is eating, playing, and is not falling over. Zander will be seeing a specialist soon to check how his facial fractures are healing and determine whether any additional testing or treatment is needed.

We are so grateful this sweet boy is safe. Stay tuned for updates on Zander’s progress!
