Maya was rescued from a California shelter after being placed on the euthanasia list because of a medical condition affecting her right eye. Before arriving at the shelter, she had already experienced a difficult start to life living on the streets.
Despite everything she has been through, Maya is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate puppy. Since coming into our care, she has had her right eye removed and is recovering beautifully. More importantly, she is beginning to grow in confidence and learn what it feels like to be safe, cared for, and loved.
Maya is still building trust and will do best with a family that can give her patience, reassurance, and time to continue coming out of her shell. She has made wonderful progress and is becoming more confident every day.
She is a truly special puppy looking for a loving forever home where she can continue to heal, grow, and experience the happy life she deserves.
